Your Resume Got You the Interview… But Can Recruiters Find You Online?

You spent time polishing your resume. Maybe you even hired a professional to help. The formatting is clean, the bullet points are tight, and the keywords are all in the right places. You feel good about it.

But here is something a lot of job seekers do not think about: most recruiters are not waiting around for your resume to land in their inbox. They are out there searching for candidates right now, and the first place they look is LinkedIn.

Recruiters Start on LinkedIn, Not Your Resume

It sounds a little backwards, but it is true. LinkedIn has over a billion members, and recruiters use its search tools every single day to find people with specific skills, job titles, and experience. If your profile is thin, outdated, or just not optimized, you are invisible to that search.

Think of it this way. Your resume is the document that gets you through a specific door, after you have already knocked. But your LinkedIn profile is the thing that gets you noticed before you ever knock. Both matter, and both need to do their jobs well.

A lot of people treat LinkedIn like an afterthought. They copy and paste their resume into it, add a generic headline like “marketing professional,” and call it a day. That approach leaves a lot of opportunity on the table.

What LinkedIn Optimization Actually Means

Optimizing your LinkedIn profile is not just about filling in all the blanks. It is about using the right language, the right keywords, and the right structure so that the platform’s algorithm actually surfaces you in searches.

Your headline, your summary section, your skills, your job descriptions… all of these pieces work together. When they are written well, recruiters find you. When they are written poorly or skipped entirely, you blend into the background.

There is also the matter of first impressions. When a recruiter does click on your profile, what do they see? If your summary is vague or your experience reads like a list of job duties with no sense of impact, they will move on fast. You need a profile that tells a story and makes someone want to reach out.

Your Resume and LinkedIn Need to Tell the Same Story

Here is another place people run into trouble. Their resume says one thing and their LinkedIn says something slightly different. Maybe the dates do not line up, or the job title is worded differently, or the accomplishments are framed in an inconsistent way.

Recruiters and hiring managers notice these things. Inconsistencies raise questions. When your resume and your LinkedIn are in sync, telling the same clear story about who you are and what you bring to the table, you build trust right from the start.

That is why it makes sense to work on both at the same time, with the same professional voice running through both documents.

The Hired Package Makes It Simple

At Twin Rivers Communications, we offer resume writing and LinkedIn optimization as part of a complete package called The Hired Package. For $219, you get a professionally written resume, a cover letter, and a fully optimized LinkedIn profile, all working together.

If you bought each service separately, you would be looking at $258. The Hired Package saves you $39 while making sure everything is consistent and built to get results.

The Professional Resume we write is built for 0 to 10 years of experience and runs one to two pages. It is ATS-optimized, meaning it is written to get past the automated screening systems that most companies use before a human ever sees your application. We also include AI-enhanced writing and unlimited revisions for seven days, so you can make sure it feels right.

The cover letter and LinkedIn optimization round out the package. Between the three, you are showing up professionally wherever a recruiter looks, whether that is your emailed application or a search on LinkedIn.

Do Not Let a Great Resume Go to Work Without Backup

Think of your resume as your starting pitcher. It is important. But a great team does not rely on one player. Your LinkedIn profile is your closer. Your cover letter sets the tone. When the whole team is working together, you have a much better shot at winning.

Job searching is stressful enough without wondering whether your online presence is working against you. Getting everything done at once, by the same team, with a consistent voice, takes one big thing off your plate.

If you are ready to show up confidently in your resume, your cover letter, and on LinkedIn, we would love to help. Visit twinrivers.net/resume-writing to learn more about The Hired Package and all of our resume services, or reach out directly to get started. We make it easy.
