📱 What to Post on Social Media When You Have No Idea What to Say

Let’s face it—consistently posting to your business’s social media can feel like shouting into the void. You know you should be posting regularly, but when you sit down to do it… your mind goes blank.

“What do I even say?”
“What if no one likes it?”
“Is this even helping my business?”

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone—and the good news is, it’s fixable. With the right strategy and a few go-to content ideas, you can stop overthinking and start showing up consistently (and effectively) online.

💡 First, Remember This: It’s Not About Being Perfect—It’s About Being Present

People follow businesses on social media for one reason: connection. They want to know who you are, what you do, and why it matters. They don’t expect perfection. They expect relevance, personality, and consistency.

If you’re stuck, start by shifting your mindset: you’re not writing for everyone, you’re writing for your ideal client. Talk to them directly, simply, and honestly.

✅ 10 Easy Social Media Post Ideas That Work for Any Business

Here’s your cheat sheet for those “I have nothing to post” moments. Rotate through these and you’ll always have something fresh to share.

---

1. Answer a Common Question

What do clients or customers ask you all the time? Turn that into a post.

Example: “One of the most common questions I get is, ‘Should I include every job on my resume?’ Short answer: no. Here’s why…”

---

2. Share a Quick Tip

People love simple, useful advice—especially if it saves them time or stress.

Example: “Struggling with what to post? Try this: answer one question your customer asked you this week. Boom. That’s content.”

---

3. Before & After (or Problem & Solution)

This can be visual (photos) or written.

Example: “This client came to me with a generic resume that hadn’t been updated in 8 years. We gave it a full overhaul—and now she’s getting interviews every week.”

---

4. Client Testimonial or Review

Let your happy clients do the talking.

Example: “Shoutout to Sarah for this amazing review. She landed her dream job two weeks after we revamped her resume!”

---

5. Behind-the-Scenes

People love to see the real human behind the brand.

Example: “Here’s a peek at what it looks like when I’m deep in resume edits with 3 coffees and a dog at my feet. Real talk: I love this work.”

---

6. Promote a Service—But Make It Personal

Instead of “Buy this,” focus on how your service helps.

Example: “If you’ve been staring at a blank screen trying to write your About page or Google ad—don’t stress. That’s what I do best.”

---

7. Throwback or Milestone

Share a business anniversary, a favorite client memory, or a reflection on how far you’ve come.

Example: “5 years ago, I wrote my first professional resume. Since then, I’ve helped over 500 people level up their careers.”

---

8. Tips for Your Audience’s Problem

Think about their pain points—not yours.

Example: “If you’re overwhelmed by digital marketing, start small. Post twice a week. Be consistent. You don’t need to go viral—you need to show up.”

---

9. Industry Myth-Busting

Challenge common assumptions in your field.

Example: “MYTH: You should only have a one-page resume. FACT: Most mid-level professionals do better with two pages—if it’s focused.”

---

10. Share a Resource

Point your audience to something genuinely helpful—even if you didn’t create it.

Example: “This free job interview checklist is gold. If you’re preparing for interviews this month, check it out.”

---

🧠 Bonus Strategy: Create a Monthly Content Theme

Still stuck? Try picking one theme per month and building your posts around it. For example:

• January = New Year, New Goals

• February = Client Love + Testimonials

• March = Spring Clean Your Resume

This gives your content structure, makes scheduling easier, and keeps your audience engaged with a consistent message.

---

📉 What NOT to Do

• Don’t post just for the sake of posting. No one wants filler.

• Don’t copy trends blindly if they don’t fit your brand.

• Don’t go silent for 6 months and then post a random “Sorry I’ve been MIA.”

Show up regularly, add value, and speak like a human—not a robot or a sales funnel.
